FAMILY SESSIONS

Are you looking for a family photography session in The Hills District, Sydney? If so, we'd love to connect with you!

Family photo sessions with Storybook Photography are so much fun! They are the perfect way to capture your family as it is right now! Yes, even if  things are a little chaotic (maybe even crazy), now is the perfect time to schedule a family photo session and have your family photographed the way it is right now.

Rachael has been capturing photos for families all over Sydney and the Hawkesbury since 2013. She photographs her outdoor sessions at several locations within The Hills and Hawkesbury District and generally has a location to suit everyone. Whether you are looking for rustic style photos in an open field with long grass, or if you prefer photos with lush manicured gardens, for a more formal vibe or if a playing around a river is more your thing, Rachael would love to work with you and bring your visions to life.

A family photography session with Storybook Photography is customised to meet your desires. You might be after a perfectly posed session where everyone is looking at the camera or you might prefer completely unscripted, natural photos. You might even want a combination of both! Whatever you are after, Rachael will work her magic with you and your family on the day of the session.

Storybook Photography is one of Sydney's most sought after family photographers and is well known for capturing photos with the gorgeous golden glow of the sun. To achieve this look, Rachael photograph's all of her outdoor sessions late in the afternoon - usually around 1-2 before sunset. The start time of these sessions will vary throughout the year as the sun sets at a different time through each season!

So when is the right time to book a your family photography session with Storybook Photography? NOW! There is never a perfect time - your child may have a tooth missing, they may have cut a piece of their hair, or you might be worried about those extra few kilos you are carrying from enjoying yourself at Christmas. The reality is, even when those things are back to being perfect, there will be something else that isn't - So our suggestion is to book anyway. Life goes by so quickly and the life we know today could be completely different tomorrow. So why wait?

FAMILY SESSION INFORMATION

Q - Where are your outdoor sessions photographed?

A - We have several locations that we usually recommend, however the location really depends on what look you are after. Our locations offer;

- Rustic, open field with long grass

- Manicured and themed gardens with a bridge over a lake

- River with sandy beach

- Bush with tall trees

Q - What times do you photograph outdoor sessions?

A - Our outdoor sessions are always photographed around 1-2 hours before sunset as that is when the sunlight is soft, golden and makes for the most spectacular photos!

Q - What time of year is best for taking outdoor photos?

A - The weather can be crazy all year round, however it tends to be more settled in late Autumn, Winter and Early Spring and I find there are less reschedules during those months as opposed to the warmer months of late Spring and Summer.

Q - Do you provide clothing?

A - We have some gorgeous boho style gowns for mama's to wear during their session if desired and we also have a large range of baby clothing to suit babies aged 3-12 months. We have found that most of our clients have preferred to wear their own clothing though as they feel more comfortable.

We do not provide clothing for dads or older children however we are more than happy to organise a planning call to help you choose clothing for your family to wear.

Q - Do you offer family sessions in the studio?

A - Yes! We find that most people prefer outdoor photos, however we are more than happy to hold your session in the studio if you prefer.

Q - Do you offer family sessions on a weekend?

A - Yes we do. We only open a select amount of weekend each year and these tend to book out quite quickly - often months in advance. We do recommend securing your booking as early as possible if you'd like a weekend booking.

Q - What happens if it rains or if the weather is terrible?

A - Unfortunately this is a possible downside to booking an outdoor session. We will still go ahead with your session if it is cloudy, however if it is raining on the day of your session, it is gale force winds, or it is excessive heat, we will likely need to reschedule. I'm all about making your session fun, and if the weather isn't playing ball, you wont be having much fun!

Q -Do you offer extended family sessions?

A - Yes we do! Please get in touch so that we can discuss your requirements and will then prepare a custom quote for you.

If you have further questions, please get in touch! Rachael would be more than happy to answer any questions about our sessions.
