A - It's best to book your newborn photography session early in your second trimester of pregnancy.
Other sessions can be booked at any time, however it is best to consider booking at least 2-3 months in advance as my schedule tends to fill up quite quickly.
Q - What if my baby arrives early or late?
A - Upon booking, I will schedule your estimated due date in my diary as a temporary booking and when your baby arrives, your newborn session will then be scheduled.
In the event that your baby arrives early and needs to spend time in Special Care or Intensive Care, all you need to do is keep in touch with your baby's progress and your newborn session will be scheduled when your baby has been allowed home.
Q - What if I prefer to have my baby photographed after 14 days?
A - I am more than happy to work around you and schedule your session at a time that you are comfortable with taking your baby out. It is important to note though, that the baby's you will see in the newborn gallery are all under 14 days which is important to achieve certain womb like posing. As your baby grows, he will not be able to flex as much and therefore, some of the posing will look different in older babies. Also depending on the size of your baby, as he grows, he may not fit into some of the props - another reason why newborn photography is suggested to be held within 14 days after birth.
Q - What happens if my baby or anyone else in my family is sick on the day of our session?
A - I am quite particular about a baby's health. In the event of sickness, I will reschedule your session. This is firstly because if your baby or any other children you may have are sick, they will be fussy on the day and it will make the session a little more difficult. But it is also because I want to ensure my studio is kept germ free so that I don't risk passing on any illness to any other babies who are booked into my studio around the time of your session,
In the event that I am sick, I will give you as much notice as possible and will also reschedule your session so that I don't pass on my germs to you and your family.
Q - The package I would like does not include an album - Can I order one separately?
A - Yes, of course you can! My packages have been designed based on research and feedback I have received from previous clients. That said, you may choose to go with a package on it's own, or you can add any professional product that I have available to your order.
Q - When is the best time of year to book a family photo session?
A - A family photo session can be held at anytime, however you will need to take a few things into consideration when deciding on a date. Outdoor sessions are always photographed in the afternoon close to sunset, so if you are wanting an early session, it will best to photograph your family during non daylight savings time.
The weather is another thing you will need to think about. Whilst summer is generally nice and warm, it also means unpredictable weather with lot's of afternoon storms.
I will discuss timing and locations with you when you book your photography session.
Q - I can't decide between an outdoor or a studio session?
A - Both sessions are beautiful and you will have gorgeous memories regardless of which option you choose. However when deciding, it's best to decide what style you are after.
Studio sessions are very posed, classic and timeless. Outdoor sessions whilst posed, are more natural and relaxed.
I am happy to chat to you over the phone to discuss your options and to help you choose.
